The document delivers an overview of the porting methods which are available in both Qualiware Web and Qualiware Lifecycle Manager (QLM).
Exporting
There are a few ways to export and import content into QualiWare. The formats of an export file might vary depending on the method you choose to export data.
Export All:
A user can export entire repository data/objects within one load.
Export Subset:
A user can export a subset or partial data from a repository. It is useful when a user knows exactly which diagrams or objects are needed.
Export to XML /Export XML Subset:
Export to XML allows a user to receive data in a spreadsheet/XML format to use outside of QualiWare.
Copy Repository to Dump File:
This feature allows you to copy the entire repository. Copy repository is superior to ExportAll method as it also copies repository settings where ExportAll only ports content.
Print to PDF
The feature allows you to extract PDF files of specific diagrams. To access this feature, go to File>Print Setup>Print to PDF.
Export to ArchiMate
The feature allows to export QualiWare data in Archimate format.
Export to XMI 2.5
A user can export data to XMI 2.5 format which XML Metadata Interchange. For more information, you can visit XML Metadata Interchange - Wikipedia.
Export to PDF
The export to PDF feature is also available on the QW web. Usually, you can locate It under HTMLQRV objects.
Export to Excel
Similar to Export to PDF, Export to Excel allows to extract Excel files of the specific diagram/QRV. You can also export the file to Excel from a spreadsheet template.
Importing
Import
The feature allows you to import QRX QualiWare files into the repository.
Import 6 and older version
Users should use this feature when importing QW files prior to QualiWare 10. Usually, older files will have a QRP extension.
Import from Visio
Allows to import Visio diagrams into QW. A user will have to map diagram objects of Visio to available objects in QualiWare. An additional menu will appear to map the attributes.
Import Persons from Active Directory
The feature allows you to import “Persons” objects into a repository based on the existing active directory of your organization.
Import from WDSL
The feature allows WDSL which is Web Services Description Language to port into QualiWare. For more information on it, please visit WSDL - Introduction (tutorialspoint.com)
Import WSDL from CentraSite
For more information on CentraSite, please visit CentraSite - Why 4.9 Stars? | ITQlick
Import XPDL
The feature allows to import XML Process Definition Language to QualiWare. For more information on XPDL, please visit XPDL - Wikipedia
Import Archimate
The feature allows to import Archimate into QualiWare.
Import XMI 2.5
The feature allows you to import XMI 2.5 into QualiWare.
GTI
General Table Interface allows you to port spreadsheet data into a repository and automatically create objects and attributes/properties of those objects.
Data Source Connection
A template that allows to connect with external data(spreadsheet data) with a repository and extract data into QualiWare. Typically, DataSourceConnection is an intermediate step to create queries.
Query
A template that allows you to import data to QW and use it to develop generic queries, charts, and matrices.
ExternalDocument
A template that allows to connect to an external file and store it within a repository.
Import to Spreadsheet
A feature within the QW web which allows to import QW data into a spreadsheet format and work on data outside of QualiWare. It is an experimental feature that allows to take data similar to GTI and then transform it into a diagram with objects and attributes.
Import via Web Diagram Editor
A set of features that allows you to import data from text or images into QualiWare. The features are experimental and takes time to understand the process of loading data. The result is receiving a developed diagram from text or image.
Repository Compare
The feature is available as a standard tool in QW web. These two arrows allow to copy content from one repository to the other. It is one of the fastest ways to share selected diagrams and objects among repositories.
