QW QLM - Exporting and Importing on Qualiware

The document delivers an overview of the porting methods which are available in both Qualiware Web and Qualiware Lifecycle Manager (QLM).

Exporting 

There are a few ways to export and import content into QualiWare. The formats of an export file might vary depending on the method you choose to export data. 

Export All: 

A user can export entire repository data/objects within one load.

Export Subset: 

A user can export a subset or partial data from a repository. It is useful when a user knows exactly which diagrams or objects are needed.

Export to XML /Export XML Subset:

Export to XML allows a user to receive data in a spreadsheet/XML format to use outside of QualiWare.

Copy Repository to Dump File: 

This feature allows you to copy the entire repository. Copy repository is superior to ExportAll method as it also copies repository settings where ExportAll only ports content.

Print to PDF 

The feature allows you to extract PDF files of specific diagrams. To access this feature, go to File>Print Setup>Print to PDF.

Export to ArchiMate 

The feature allows to export QualiWare data in Archimate format.

Export to XMI 2.5 

A user can export data to XMI 2.5 format which XML Metadata Interchange. For more information, you can visit XML Metadata Interchange - Wikipedia

Export to PDF 

The export to PDF feature is also available on the QW web. Usually, you can locate It under HTMLQRV objects.

Export to Excel 

Similar to Export to PDF, Export to Excel allows to extract Excel files of the specific diagram/QRV. Graphical user interface, text, application, email

Importing 

Import 

The feature allows you to import QRX QualiWare files into the repository. Graphical user interface, application, Word

Import 6 and older version 

Users should use this feature when importing QW files prior to QualiWare 10. Usually, older files will have a QRP extension. Graphical user interface, application, Word

Import from Visio 

Allows to import Visio diagrams into QW. A user will have to map diagram objects of Visio to available objects in QualiWare. An additional menu will appear to map the attributes. Graphical user interface, application, Word

Import Persons from Active Directory 

The feature allows you to import “Persons” objects into a repository based on the existing active directory of your organization.

Import from WDSL

GTI 

General Table Interface allows you to port spreadsheet data into a repository and automatically create objects and attributes/properties of those objects.

Data Source Connection 

A template that allows to connect with external data(spreadsheet data) with a repository and extract data into QualiWare. Typically, DataSourceConnection is an intermediate step to create queries. Graphical user interface, application

Query 

A template that allows you to import data to QW and use it to develop generic queries, charts, and matrices. Graphical user interface, application

ExternalDocument 

A template that allows to connect to an external file and store it within a repository. Graphical user interface, application

Import to Spreadsheet 

A feature within the QW web which allows to import QW data into a spreadsheet format and work on data outside of QualiWare. It is an experimental feature that allows to take data similar to GTI and then transform it into a diagram with objects and attributes. Graphical user interface, application, table, Excel

Import via Web Diagram Editor 

A set of features that allows you to import data from text or images into QualiWare. The features are experimental and takes time to understand the process of loading data. The result is receiving a developed diagram from text or image.

Repository Compare 

The feature is available as a standard tool in QW web. These two arrows allow to copy content from one repository to the other. It is one of the fastest ways to share selected diagrams and objects among repositories. Graphical user interface, text, application
